Disable animations in Microsoft Internet Explorer to avoid distraction.

While browsing through various website on the internet, very often we come across some websites which serve flash based animated contents which seems to be very attractive. But now a days many advertisements are served using animated contents like cartoons, jump menu on hovering the animated content. These flash
based animated contents are sometimes so distracting that the important things in the webpage rarely attracts attention and those animated advertisements simply disturb us.

So If we are using Internet Explorer browser, then we can come out of this problem by disabling the animations in Internet Explorer. To disable the animations you can follow these steps:

  • Open Internet Explorer browser.
  • On the menu bar, click on the “Tools” menu.
  • A jump menu will be shown from which locate the last option called “Internet Options” and click to open it.
  • Now the Internet Options window will be shown with many tabs in it. Select the last tab named as “Advanced”. The screen will be shown like as shown in the following snap:


  • Now scroll down to the “multimedia” section where you will find a check box option called “Play animations in webpages”. Click on the box to uncheck that option.
  • Now click on apply and then ok.
  • Now whenever you go through the website that serves animated contents then those contents will not run in your browser. This will ensure that the animated advertisements are not played on your internet explorer browser while you surf the internet.
