How to download Embedded SlideShare Documents [with Video]

How to download Embedded SlideShare Documents?

This question was asked by one of my visitor who asked this in the comment box. The question was answered thereafter but I thought of making a post on it so that it would help other visitors who are not aware on how to download the slideshare documents embedded within post.

Well you might have seen some of the post on this blog under the category of ‘videos and PPT’ which contain some videos and PowerPoint presentations embedded within the post. The videos embedded are hosted at YouTube and you know how to download those YouTube videos, but the powerpoint presentations embedded here have been hosted at the free presentation sharing community SlideShare.net. Now let’s get back on how to download the documents?

To download the slideshare documents embedded within the posts, simply follow the steps listed below:

  1. To know whether the document has been hosted on slideshare or not, check for the slide share logo at the bottom bar of the embedded PowerPoint presentation.
  2. "View on slideshare" button below embedded document
  3. Next you will find small a grey coloured rectangular button on the bottom left corner of the embedded presentation where it would be written as “View on SlideShare”.
  4. Click on that ‘view on slideshare’ button which will take you to the original slideshare page where the presentation has been uploaded same as in the case of embedded YouTube videos.
  5. Download button at Slideshare page
  6. Now above the fold of the presentation at slideshare.net, you can find the ‘download’ button which is located at third location from left.
  7. Click on the download button
  8. Now another window will open asking you to login into slideshare.net or create a new account in order to download the presentation.
  9. If you already have an account with slideshare then login into that otherwise you can also login using your facebook account without creating a new slideshare account filling up the long forms.
  10. Simply click on the blue coloured button titled as ‘login with facebook’, then in another window, authorise the slideshare application to use your facebook profile details.
  11. Now when you are logged in, your presentation will automatically start to download. Otherwise if the download does not start, then you can see a link on the webpage saying that “If download doesn’t start automatically then click here”, so click on that link and the presentation will be downloaded into your computer.

Useful Tip: If the presentation uploaded by the user contains some animated slides then it’s better to download and see that offline on your computer rather than viewing it in slideshare. The reason behind this is while viewing it on slideshare you cannot enjoy or learn through the animations, since the slideshare embedded documents can be viewed as if you are turning the pages of a book.
