How to create GIF animations using photos?

You might have seen numerous photos which supports moving images. For those who don’t know, these are called animations, and the image files are called GIF images, which are called so because of their extension as ‘.gif’. You can also create such images having animated cartoons or characters by combining numerous timeline images using shows per photo per fraction of second and combines it to make a moving image.



Well this post is about creating GIF animations using photographs, so you can combine more than 2 photos and show all of them in a slideshow manner. And moreover you can adjust the speed of slideshow as per your requirements.

To accomplish this task, follow these steps:

  1. First of all get ready with all the photographs that you want to be included in the slideshow in the GIF animated image.
  2. Now go to your internet explorer or Mozilla Firefox or whatever browser that you use and type the URL http://gickr.com. This website is a free website where you can create GIF images featuring slideshow of your photos according to the speed of transition that you setup.
  3. Now on the gickr website, you will find 3 spaces to enter the location of the images in your computer, click on the ‘Browse’ button to locate the photos in your computers, hard disk or removable disk or whatever it may be.
  4. If you have more that 3 images, then you can add one more file location using the ‘add one more picture >’ link.
  5. When you are done with that you can proceed to the processing of pictures by clicking on the triangle shaped ‘continue’ button.

Now for few seconds, the pictures will be processed and it will give you the option to download the gif image and will also provide the direct link to the image hosted on gickr’s server.
