Basics of Optical Fibre communication – Semiconductor Physics [PPT]

Basics of Optical Fibre communication – Semiconductor Physics [PPT].

Optical fibre communication forms the base of telecommunication networks today. Some of the processes involved in optical fibre communication include:

  1. Generation
  2. Modulation
  3. Transmission
  4. Amplification
  5. Reception by photo detectors

In this post i want to share with you a presentation that i had prepared during my course of semiconductor physics. This presentation contains the very basics of the optical fibre communication.

Some of the slides have been explained using animations, so for better understandings, you can download this ppt directly from the slideshare website and view it in your computer.

  1. Thanks for sharing this! It is really a worthwhile read. Optical Fibre cables are a large part of what makes technology what it is now.

Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more
than just your articles? I mean, what you say is important and all.
But think of if you added some great visuals or videos to give your posts more, "pop"! Your content is excellent but with images and video clips, this site could definitely be one of the very best in its field. Great blog!
