How to add Data Analysis toolpack to Excel

If you are performing a range of data analysis in Microsoft Excel, I am sure you would be using the “Data Analysis” ToolPack in Excel.

Sometimes you might encounter with a situation wherein the “Data Analysis” toolpack is not visible under the “Data” Tab. In this case, you can follow these steps to enable it.

  • Click on the “File Tab” in Microsoft Excel (I am using Microsoft Office 2010).

  • Select “Options” from the side bar which appeared upon clicking “File” tab. You will be shown a window as shown below:
Excel Options Window
  • From the “Excel Options” window, select “Add-Ins” from the sidebar. The contents would be displayed similar to the image shown below:
Excel Add-Ins Window
  • Select “Analysis ToolPak” from the Inactive Application Add-Ins section and Click on “Go” button as shown in the image above. Another Dialog box would appear as shown in the below image:
Add-Ins Dialog Box
  • From this dialog box, click to select the checkbox besides the option “Analysis ToolPak” and then click on “OK” button.
  • Now the “Data Analysis” tool would be visible under the “Data” tab.
