Now SMS ticket (m-ticket) instead of e-ticket.


Now Indian railway has released a new service for the railway passengers wherein they can get the e-tickets in their phone through SMS without the need of the e-ticket printout

With this new service called “m-ticket” you can now show your SMS to the train ticket examiner (TTE) instead of the conventional e-ticket printout.

If you have an internet connection, you can avail this service as soon as you want. You can do it so by downloading the mobile ticketing application from the Indian railway portal at www.indianrailways.gov.in . After providing your mobile number at the Indian railway web portal, they will send a URL to your mobile phone containing the link to download the mobile tracking application.

After you complete the booking and payment, a Mobile Reservation Message (MRM) will be sent to your mobile as SMS, which can be used as m-ticket.

Currently you can avail the facility of booking m-ticket from 12:30 AM to 11:30 PM daily from the Indian Railway portal
