Day by day Samsung’s android based smartphones are getting more popular. All its success is attributed to its best product till date that is none other than Samsung Galaxy. Be it a tablet or smartphones, Samsung’s android devices simply rock in its features and gives their customers a real satisfaction.



Well Samsung has released another android based smartphone under its Samsung Galaxy brand name. As the title of this post says here the phone referred to is Samsung Galaxy Y S5360. Well this is not just another phone in the similar category but it’s a handset with difference, all because of its price tag. Earlier the Samsung galaxy range phones like galaxy S and S2 were very costly but this gadget has been launched with a much lower price and is considered as the cheapest Samsung galaxy smartphone.

Let’s take a look on the features and specifications of this device. This smartphone runs on Google’s android gingerbread platform version 2.3.5.  Talking about some of its system capability, this mobile device runs on an 832 MHz processor. Currently it comes with an internal memory of 160 MB and the memory is expandable up to 32 GB using the microSD card slot.

Now let’s have a look at its hardware capability. This phone is having a size or dimensions of 104 x 58 x 11.5 mm. The weight of this android handset is approximately equal to 97.5 grams. The battery of this smartphone is quite good which is Lithium Ion based with 1200 mAh capacity which can power your smartphone for 850 hours in standby mode while using 2G network otherwise 540 hour while on 3 G network. And the talk time this battery can provide is up to 17 hours while on 2 G network and around 6 hours 20 minutes while on 3 G network.

Talking about some of its connectivity features, this handset supports all kind of leading connectivity like GPRS, EDGE and 3G. For data transfers, this smartphone also supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and data cable connection using microUSB. This phone is also having one 3.5 mm jack.

Going into its multimedia features and details, the display screen of this smartphone is 3” which TFT capacitive touch screen of 240 x 340 pixels. The device works with the software TouchWiz UI for touch sensitive controls. Moreover its touch feature supports multi touch -input method. Well this samsung handset comes with 2 Megapixel camera of 1600 x 1200 pixels which is not so bad. But the bad part is though this phone supports 3G, it don’t have any secondary camera for video calling. The video recording is supported using QVGA camera which records at the rate of 15 frames per second. Well as far as the price is seen, the QVGA option for video camera is not bad.

Additionally some of the supported applications include A-GPS, YouTube, Google talk application, Calendar, Google Picasa album, QuickOffice document editing and viewing application, Voice memo and Swype.

Next the price of Samsung galaxy Y S5360 in India is around Rs 6,990 and currently it comes in metallic Gray colour.
